call for teachers

Texas Gourd Society (TGS) thanks you for applying to teach at the 30th annual Lone Star Gourd Festival at Dripping Springs Ranch Park, 1042 Event Center Drive, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

Classes will be held October 16-17-18, 2025.

We are looking for a diverse set of classes, some that are unique and/or new.

We are also accepting applications for non-gourd classes such as basket weaving, pyrography, painting, wood carving, etc. Skills taught should be applicable to gourds.

Class Dates & Times

Classroom setup: Thursday at 11:30am / Friday & Saturday at 7:00am

Thursday, 10/16 (4 hr. classes) 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Friday, 10/17 (4 hr. classes) 8:00am – 12:00pm & 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Friday, 10/17 (2 hr. classes) 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Friday, 10/17 All Day Class: 8:00am – 4:30pm (lunch time at teacher discretion)
Saturday, 10/18 (2 hr. classes) 10:00am – 12:00pm
Saturday, 10/18 (4 hr. classes) 8:00am – 12:00pm & 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Saturday, 10/18 (2 hr. classes) 10:00am – 12:00pm
Saturday, 10/18 All Day Class: 8:00am – 4:30pm (lunch time at teacher discretion)

Important Dates to Remember

June 30, 2025 – Deadline - Application, Bio & Class description/pictures
July 7, 2025 – Acceptance will be sent to teachers
July 14, 2025 – Teachers to preview classes
July 18, 2025 – Classes go LIVE
August 15, 2025 – Last day for students to cancel
October 18, 2025 – Teacher checks will be distributed.

Class Pricing

Please include any materials fees in the cost of your class.
There is a $10 TGS fee for each student. Please add/include $10 TGS fee in the cost of your class.
Team teaching is permissible, but only one teacher will be paid.
Teachers will get paid for all students that have registered.
If student is a no show, teacher will get paid for that student.
