The purpose of the Texas Gourd Society is to promote interest in and appreciation of gourds, both to our membership and to the general public.  We will do this by sharing information through education, meetings, festivals and shows related to the culture, history, uses, crafting and artistry of gourds.

The Texas Gourd Society (TGS) is a 501(c)3 organization whose members meet to share their knowledge, skills, and creativity in producing works of art from gourds.  The Society publishes a quarterly online newsletter, The Gourdzette, that provides information about gourd "patches" in your area, what we are doing, sources for gourds and see

The Texas Gourd Society (TGS) is a 501(c)3 organization whose members meet to share their knowledge, skills, and creativity in producing works of art from gourds.  The Society publishes a quarterly online newsletter, The Gourdzette, that provides information about gourd "patches" in your area, what we are doing, sources for gourds and seeds, educational materials, workshops, seminars and many other things to support gourd artists and promote the arts in our communites.

The Lone Star Gourd Festival, in Dripping Springs, TX 

October 17-18, 2025. 


The North Texas Gourd Festival in Granbury, TX

Since our founding, we have made a significant impact in our communities. We have provided opportunities for artists to exhibit their work, connected artists with each other, and brought the arts to underserved communities.
