The Lone Star Gourd Festival features a competition that is open to the public for viewing. It consists of six divisions:
Major awards are Best of Show, Best of Division, VIP Award and People's Choice Award. All visitors touring the competition area are encouraged to vote for their favorite. These votes are tallied Sunday for the People's Choice award.
Each category also is awarded first through third place ribbons. For detailed information and to find out how to enter, refer to the Competition Application.
Who Can Enter
Anyone may enter the competition. One entry per category is permitted for each entrant. You may enter gourds in multiple categories within your division.
Early entry fees (by August 4) are as follows:
TGS Members - $2.00
Non Members - $5.00
Youth Division - No Fee
Late entry fees are:
TGS Members - $ 5.00
Non Members - $10.00
Youth Division - $ 1.00
All entries must be hand delivered and will be received on Thursday, August 17, 2017, from 12 noon to 3 PM, at the competition area in the Civic Convention Center, 375 Castell Avenue, New Braunfels, TX 78130, at which time you will receive a claim ticket. This ticket MUST be presented when picking up entries after the show. All entries must be picked up starting at 3 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2017, from the competition area.
Entries not personally delivered: The Delivery Form is required for entries not being personally delivered. It may be sent with the entry application or accompany the delivery. No deliveries will be accepted without this form.
