Blanche’s interest in gourd art started about 5 years ago when she retired and decided to try doing pyrography. Her husband, Roy Cavarretta, who retired a year earlier was using his pen and ink skills to do pyrography on gourds. Her skills grew and soon, she was selling her work at the local Arts and Craft Shows and two Texas Art Galleries. Blanche currently has work featured at a gallery in addition to doing juried art shows.
Blanche uses pyrography, relief carving and coiling to create her art.
